The message that plays when you reach his voicemail is whatever the generic thing that came with the phone might be. This one isn't technologically savvy enough to even realise there's a message he can change. But feel free to leave a message. He'll probably figure out how to listen to it... eventually.

He doesn't really have anything to say back to that, though, so he doesn't.

That was strange, but for now he's not going to worry about it too much, unless something seems really off at kendo.]

I need to get something unstuck and for various reasons don't think Zero could.

[Unstuck? What is she even talking about? ...he is really not sure what to make of that message. But since he doesn't have anything better to do at the moment, he goes for the easy way of figuring this out.]

I'm by the vending machine. I can meet you somewhere else though if that's easier.

[It's not far from where he was already, thankfully. It doesn't take him long to show up in person. Between the one from a couple days back and now, she really shouldn't be surprised to be greeted with:]

[ Oh- he really is quick. She doesn't even hear him until he arrives, and turns around with a small moment of surprise. ]

That didn't take long. [ Lifting a hand up to her neck she's about to rub it, before remembering the bandage there and lets her arm fall. ] Sorry about that. But hey, I made it to practice on time on Monday.

[ Even if her performance had been pretty poor. At the very least this morning had been much better. ]

[He shrugs. That wasn't him going out of his way; he just happened to be nearby. If she'd tried to make him go all the way across the school, he probably would have kept her waiting hours just to be annoying.]

You seemed kinda out of it, though. [he replies casually. He would have noticed regardless, but her message had put him on alert. He's just assuming she hadn't gotten much sleep or something, though, especially since today was better, and didn't come with any weird messages. Until now, anyway.] So what's this thing you want help unsticking?

[ At least that much is true. She can so so without having to dance around any kind of truth. At his question though, she grabs her bag and digs inside, rummaging within a moment until she finds what she needs. ]

Ta-da!

[ Holding out a small metal rod, she hefts it up for him to look at. ]

It's Artemis! My weapon!

[He gives the object a curious look. He's never seen anything quite like that. It looks like it folds up somehow, but he's not sure how that would turn into a very long staff, much less-]

Didn't you say it was a scythe?

[ That's where she begins to frown. ]

Well first it actually starts as a staff, but...

[ She slumps. ]

For some reason it's stuck. It wont listen to me or even slide out and open up. [ With a practiced flick she moves with the intention of shifting into a fighting stance, one in which the weapon should slide out into its appropriate form.

But... nothing happens. ]

. . . I feel like I've just been rejected all over again. What did those weirdos do to Artemis?

I've never seen a weapon like that before.

[He seems a little fascinated. He holds out a hand, gesturing for her to give it to him, since he certainly cant' do anything to help without at least getting a closer look.]

How's it supposed to open?

[ Holding it out to him, she allows him to take it from her. Maybe, somehow, he'll figure it out where she can't.]

With just a flick it normally opens for me. [ How to describe it... ] With a shinggggg. Like that! It just slides out, I don't think much on it. There's not a latch or anything. That's why it's so weird, It's never done this before.

[So it just opens automatically for her? That seems really strange. He wouldn't even begin to guess at how that actually works, though he's looking. She's right there's no latch. There doesn't seem to be anything to even try. Other than just tugging on it, which is the first thing he tries after examining it.

And... nothing. Even when he pulls harder. He raises an eyebrow at it.]

That's pretty stuck.

[ With a frown she reaches out to take it back. At the very least it had been worth a try, but it's frustrating to have Artemis within her grasp, and to be unable to use it.]

. . . Too bad I guess. [ Although she's definitely a little pouty in general. And her voice lowers, words mumbled to herself. ]_{I thought maybe that man had just been jerking me around, but I guess not.}

[Those last words aren't for him, he can tell. But he catches something about "that man" and can't help being curious.]

[ She makes a face. ]

A difficult person to get along with _{Then again I think most of them are.} [ She frowns, wrapping her arms around herself. ]

He's a vampire hunter. While ideally it's an association I would like to bridge some gaps with, almost all except a couple are nothing but hostile toward people like me. [ And seeing how they handle the topic of her brother in general, she doesn't trust them for a second. ]
